While not as well-known as Uchisar Castle, Ortahisar offers a more peaceful, off-the-beaten-path experience, with fewer crowds and equally stunning views.

A Natural & Historic Wonder: Standing at 110 meters high on its southern side, the Castle has been used as a defensive fortress for centuries, making it one of the oldest multi-story settlements in the world.

A Labyrinth of Rock-Cut Spaces: Inside, we explored narrow staircases, tunnels, and rock-hewn rooms, all carved into the volcanic stone.

A Stunning Viewpoint: From the top, we were rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding valleys, fairy chimneys, and distant Mount Erciyes.

Tip: The stairs inside are steep and narrow, so wear sturdy shoes for a safe climb!
