While the weather is generally mild, there can be some variation depending on the time of year you visit. In general, though, it’s best to dress in light layers that you can easily adjust as needed. Here are a few tips on what to bring, pack, and wear in Cappadocia!

After determining your date of travel to Cappadocia, we recommend you pack your suitcase according to the season, keeping in mind that weather can change periodically throughout the day. If your trip is in the Spring or Summer, be sure to bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat as a preventative measure against the high temperatures during the day. While you may be able to wear lighter clothes such as shorts and dresses during the day, you may need sweater or thicker clothes at night.
Despite traveling in Summer, it is wise to pack at least one long sleeve shirt, sweater, and pants in your suitcase.
If you are traveling in the Winter, remember that Cappadocia can be cold and often has rain and snow.
It is recommended to pack for cold wind and snow with items such as a hat, scarve, thick coat, thick pants and sweaters, long-johns or wool underwear, socks and boots. See more below for specific recommendations!

Additionally, with all of the unique caves, ancient churches, and custom designed accommodations, you are definitely going to want to share these experiences on social media or with your friends and family back home.
When traveling, keep in mind of the charging capabilities with the country. Turkey uses Type C and Type F plug type, with two round pins. Throughout the country, electric is available on a 230V 50HZ supply voltage.

As a note, drones are allowed in Turkey and in Cappadocia, but if you are a tourist, you need to apply for a technical confirmation from the Turkish DCGA prior to arrival or else the drone may be confiscated at customs. Choosing Clothes
As previously mentioned, when choosing clothes for your time in Cappadocia you will need to consider the seasons and your touring plans first. If you are going hiking, exploring nature, or taking a balloon ride, your clothing is going to be very important.
Walking shoes are essential for you to visit Cappadocia. You will rely on them during valley walks and trails that require climbing up and down hills. Additionally, some of the villages will have cobblestone streets and pavement sidewalks may be uneven in a lot of areas.
Additionally, dirt and dust-repellent clothing is important. It is recommended to travel with layers, so that you can easily remove clothing should it become dusty or too warm. During the Spring and Summer in Cappadocia, early mornings and the night can be cool, whereas daytimes can be very hot with the sun beating down on you.
Cappadocia is also a great space for photoshoots and has recently become popular on social media for unique shots with the hot air balloons as the background. If this is something you are interested in, be sure to pack accordingly not only for the weather, but for your desired picture style.
Finally, if you are planning on visiting one of the area restaurants in the evenings, Cappadocia has both causal and upscale dining options, with international cuisine. For the evening, don’t forget to pack a stylish option accordingly to your desired dining preference.

When you’re packing for a trip to Cappadocia, one of the most important things to remember is to bring comfortable shoes. The terrain is rough and uneven, so you’ll want shoes that will keep your feet safe and stable.
In addition, because the weather in Cappadocia is hot and dry, it’s a good idea to bring shoes that will allow your feet to breathe. Sport shoes, trainers, or sneakers are good choices for exploring Cappadocia during the day in the Summer. Also be sure to pack plenty of socks in case yours get dirty or sweaty throughout the day.
When packing for a winter trip to Cappadocia, it’s important to bring shoes that will keep your feet warm and dry. Boots are the best choice for winter, as they will protect your feet from the cold and the wet weather.
In addition, boots will provide extra insulation and traction on the icy ground. If you’re not a fan of boots, then sturdy walking shoes are also a good option.
